Afternoon Coffee!

Time for us to sit down with a cup of Joe and update each other. I was sad yesterday to find out that all the pictures I took weren’t on my camera at all. Somehow they never got saved to the memory card. I had some great ones of bigfoot, pasties, Lake Superior, flowers, and so much more. It so breaks my heart. I took them so I could blog about stuff and then to find they were gone, well. I thought I could recreate them in paint by drawing what they looked like.

I am working on stories just at the moment we have a ton of clients to massage! Been at work some weeks seven days. This week I took 2 days off and my schedule is slowly filling to full. I stay longer at the spa to see if anyone calls in for that last-minute massage. Never know when a body is in need. As I sit and wait, I have been crocheting and writing as the day allows or if a spark of something happens in my head.

I have been taking pictures as I walk around Munising while waiting for people to call in. I run off for some lunch somewhere usually Johnny Dogs. If you are in Munising, I would so suggest Johnny Dogs! One thing about Johnny Dogs, they are packed so plan on a long line! My other favorite spot in Munising is the Falling Rock Cafe. A fellow Nancy owns this cafe. She has a ton of books for you to read, live entertainment some days/nights, and they make amazing sandwiches. If you are craving pizza, go to Pictured Rocks Pizza. Pizza is cooked in about 8 minutes and at a great price. The bread sticks are amazing as well. I eat pasties at Muldoon’s. I am not sure where else pasties are sold in town, but this is the place everyone goes to for pasties. I always get a traditional beef pasty. We do have a new coffee shop in Munising. It is called Fudge and Coffee.

I love Tuesdays for the farmer’s market at Lake Superior. Right by the water and several vendors with great food they have grown or they made as in soap, lotion, bread, cookies. I had pictures of that as well. So sad. While you are down there, get a pizza from the ladies at the pavilion. It is five dollars for a cheese only and the proceeds go to different charities like the girls softball team.  They always have a sign up to where money is being donated for that day.

It is a blessing to see you again. Let’s have coffee another day and catch up on all things going on in our lives.

Until the next time we meet, may your day be blessed with coffee prosperity!

Hmmm I still need to check Facebook

I haven’t been on Facebook in days. I just check the message app and that is it lately. My hands are killing me. I have had several orders for bunnies. Which in the crochet world is a smash hit. I have been donating all my free time to crocheting. I am selling these small amigurumi rabbits for 5 dollars and I am still waiting for other animals to be ordered like the unicorn, elephant, and hopefully some chickens. I set a goal of making 10 of each and then having those sell first. I think if you are crocheting this is a good level goal to set and then when you do sell them, you get a bonus of buying more stuffing and yarn. I still can’t figure out how some people make a living at this but I am learning. I seemed to have found that niche in our area that is lacking. I see blankets, baby clothes, hats, gloves, scarves, cowls, and wash cloths all the time. I have even seen dick warmers. Not kidding you they are made for an erect penis but not for a normal one. I don’t know many guys who walk around with a hard on constantly. This is the one item I really shook my head at. Apparently, she made them as a joke. Which I am not sure she did or not, but ladies, you are aware of shrinkage right? She was marketing them as an everyday dick warmer. She wanted women to buy them for their man. I told all my friends about it and we laughed. We have all lived with men. We know this is not an everyday item and will only work when he is stimulated. Which means he can only use it for about 5 minutes at which time he is working if you get my drift? We all agreed she would have better chances if she made them to the right size and marketed them as ball warmers instead. You see, men will shrink up into something really small and it reminds me of a turtle head retreating into its shell. Plus, I swear most men aren’t much better than a turtle head when not in use. I only mention this since we are all looking for the right market in which to sell our items. What good is this if a man can’t use it because it is made for a time when he is sexually active and not for when he is just at rest. That is not an everyday wear item. It is a great gag gift but it isn’t something anyone will be able to use. This is what brought my attention to amigurumi style dolls and animals. No one is taking the time to really focus on this in my area. I have now created a demand since everyone has children or grandchildren. People have nieces and nephews, cousins, and there are children in this world somewhere. They can buy them from me and send them to their loved one anywhere in the world. I don’t see anything wrong in dick warmers but if I make them, they will be for everyday not for the other time of day if you get it that often.

Anywho, my hands hurt and I am trying to make enough critters for craft shows and steam and gas this September. I take my massage chair with me to all events. It was at events, that I started to really focus on my knitting and crocheting. There are times at events when you have no one to talk to. No one is at your booth and reading a book or crafting is great in making the time fly by when your booth is dead. I am working on getting the right forms to sell retail at the events as well. I know several companies that supply massage therapy products. Massage therapists asked these companies to create products they could sell at the office or events. It makes for a better income. You don’t always have massage clients daily. Cancellations happen as well. This is what leads us to other types of supply and demand products.

I have been reading news stories. I have some that I am going to post here. You all know why! In case this is your first blog post of mine I will tell you, I am writing my status updates for Facebook as a blog post. I am trying to make more use of my blog and Facebook statuses are getting in the way. It is too easy to write a short idea on the status post area. Besides, I really loathe Facebook. Thankfully there is an app for that! (that is a pun joke for those with no sense of humor) Anyway, on with the show, this is it:

One thing my Grandma always taught me was to keep up the fight. She always reminded me that she burned her bra so I wouldn’t have to listen to my husband. I didn’t have to live by rules and be personal property to a man. I could be who I wanted and do what I wanted because of her generation. Because of women in past generations, I am free from burdens that they had to endure. But she also told me to fight for anyone who needed my help. Just because it wasn’t my fight right now, didn’t mean it wouldn’t be in the future.  I am reminded daily of my Grandma’s rules in life. She had a code she lived by.  This article about Tina Fey reminded me of that. Grandma still speaks to me from beyond the grave.

It was a brutal killing that shocked Afghanistan. Now, the outrage has faded.

Another tid bit from Grandma is this, power corrupts. I don’t care who you are, you get a bit of power and it goes to your head. You think you are invincible. You think you can do anything. This leads to you never wanting to let go of that power. This is why I think we need a better way of electing government officials.

Things to add to my prayer lists. Grandma always told me to pray. No matter what religion you are, prayer works. It sets you in the frame of mind you need. Only, I use different words than negative. I use peace, love, healthy, wealthy, safe, alive, and so many more. Today, I hope you join me in praying for more positive ideals like financial freedom, great weather, and peace on Earth. Time to smudge some sage and sing songs of gratitude while remembering to be humble.

Stress Balls

I have a few ideas for my own crochet designs of stress balls. As a massage therapist, I have way, way, way, way, way, way, way, way, way, way, way, and many more way, too many clients who are just plain stressed out! I do offer meditation classes as well to help ease the day out of stress. Teaching meditation classes wasn’t really my forte and I have to plan each session carefully.  From the music to what I say, each class is focused.  I even throw in aromatherapy into meditation since certain smells will trigger a relaxation sensation.

That being said, I go on you tube all the time to check out what others have created so I don’t make their product. Which is really hard since everything has pretty much been made.  I am thinking about making some stress balls to sell. One of the places I have a booth for most years is our local steam and gas show.  I want to make some cute little animals like cats, dogs, squirrels, chickens, birds, frogs, and the like. I love to do crafts. Crafts keep me sane. I drink coffee and work on crafts outside of my employment that is. Writing is another passion of mine. I love it. Especially when I can kill something which is forbidden in real life.

So anyway, I was watching this video on stress balls and learned of the Craft Yarn Council.  Never knew this existed! I went on facebook and liked their page! I found a couple of articles there you will all love. One deals with what I have said before about amigurumi. You need to know math and what better skill than crocheting and knitting to make math really stick.  I have three links for you.

The other reason I have for this post is, I want to make a stress ball that is mine. I need a great idea like should it be a carrot or a mouse. Something that hasn’t been over done or hasn’t been done at all. What are your ideas? I can make them in funny faces, as animals, as flowers, as trees, as elements, but they have all been done. Someone even made the planets. I need a great idea that is my brand. So, please, put your thinking caps on and help me!

Another Day Away From Facebook

Yesterday, I didn’t get a chance to post anything. It was the last day of school for my girls as in they are now on SPRING BREAK!

I did find some very interesting news on facebook today. I am just staying away from writing my status reports there but not completely away. I need to know what my friends and family are doing.

Now I just focus on work for a week and hopefully, getting some direction on these Miss Nose stories. I have a new portion brewing for the Paranormal, Miss Nose and I am working on three more stories for her, my novel, and some articles for my other blog. I am working on some crime essays dealing with forensics as well. I am drinking weak coffee at the moment since I am so out of coffee and in dire need of going to the store. But it is spring break and I am being lazy. Maybe if I remember, I will get to the store and buy some.

I am writing the Reiki and health articles for my blog KWP Money Reiki. I am going to post all those massage articles there. Any nutrition or aromatherapy I write about will go there. I am trying to make those articles really shine. They have to be great. I want them posted well enough that I can put them in the spa’s newsletter for my clients. It means a ton of research and even asking my clients questions about their experiences. I am offering meditation classes now as well as teaching couples how to massage one another.

I have a few crime articles I am researching. I have been really looking at all the Nicole Brown Simpson photos. Really interesting once you know forensics. You can see the mistakes the officers made that day without even knowing.  The other one I keep going back to is White Boy Rick. Why is this poor boy still in prison?

I am further on Foxy. I haven’t really researched to see if someone has a pattern for him so I have been making him on my own. He isn’t perfect. I am making his arms right now and his tail. That is what is left of him. I am still trying to figure out his hook. Maybe I can use pipe cleaner? I like to do my crocheting without added items but still. I could just make a candy cane and that would work. You see in amigurumi, you can make a strawberry with the same pattern as any other item like a ball or turtle. When I first start out any project the beginning always reminds me of a turtle shell.

Here are some pictures of my progress for you all.

I am thinking I need more for the feet but I am not really familiar with Foxy which makes me uncertain.

I need to get back to writing. I am looking for some freelance writing gigs as well. I love coffee and thought, hey I could write about coffee. I love crime and I can write about that too. I find it unfortunate that our newspapers are going away. They are being outsourced by the world wide web and television. I have a ton to do today. This means I gotta go! Write back soon.

A little Nothing about Sunday!

Good MORNING to you all! Sorry I haven’t been getting those words onto the blog in a while. I know you are all waiting for the next Miss Nose story and I have been busy with other activities. Being involved means I can’t express myself or learn new and exciting words adding to my vocabulary.  But I did learn a new one recently!

I love to write or crochet in my down time. It all depends upon my hands and if they are hurting after working on everyone. Massage is not an easy career path. If you don’t take care of yourself, kiss your career good bye. Carpal tunnel is the major reason most end their massage career as is back issues and tenosynovitis. This is because massage schools only give you 500 hours of training and don’t teach proper body mechanics. They don’t teach students the proper exercises to strengthen their body nor do they teach students to use heat and ice after their day. I am very lucky. I went through a program that took 2 years of my life but I learned massage therapy the correct way. They taught us proper body mechanics, how to treat injuries, and how to limit ourselves so we could have a very long career. I am forever grateful to them and the City of Colorado Springs for demanding such a course. I digress. Time to the real reason I am typing this blog post.  I learned something new recently.

As you all know, my friend Alice’s cat Smokey needed surgery for cancer. She still needs funds to help pay for the vet costs, Smokey’s meds, and other items like changing the bandages. He is learning to walk on 3 legs. He is sore. Poor kitty is fighting for his life. I have been crocheting in my off hours to try and raise money to send to Alice for Smokey. In the U.P., it appears everyone crochets or knits and no one wants to buy what you have created. Washcloths, blankets, hats, mittens, slippers, and scarfs. I created a ton of each and no one wanted them. I ended up giving them away to relatives. But this just made me more determined to look into something that no one is creating here and I realized what it was, it isn’t baby items either, it is amigurumi! That is right. My new word now placed in my vocabulary is amigurumi!

What is amigurumi? I actually stumbled upon it when I was looking for slipper patterns. The slippers I make are in an amigurumi style.

img_20170112_194552

Amigurumi’s definition is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small, stuffed animals, creatures, or dolls! It got this reference from several dictionaries and books I read in the library. One book I read, and I forgot the name of it, said they are dolls with oversized heads. After reading the books, I headed to the internet and saw several pieces of others work. Amazing. My first chicken didn’t come out right. I am still trying to figure it out. But by looking at them, I realized they were balls. I have accidentally made balls when trying to make hats! Then there is the idea of trying to clone what others have done for beaks, feet, ears, eyes, and such. Not easy. I saw one person’s blog on a rabbit, her suggestion safety eyes. Safety eyes are for dolls which makes sense.

img_20170204_1356153_rewind
I tried to crochet eyes on him and they didn’t turn out right at all.

My first attempt at creating a chicken didn’t turn out like I had hoped. I think I need to get to some you tube videos and see if they can help me make the small parts. If I find one that is really good at making these small parts, I will share that person in a future blog! I didn’t have doll eyes so I tried my hand at crocheting the eyes on. My chicken is a bit funky and slightly scary. A bit deformed too. I think I used too large of a hook since he came out the size of my coffee cup.

img_20170204_1355453_rewind
The chicken ended up bigger than I thought.

Since this is the one type of item I am not seeing people create here in the U.P., I decided I may have a great chance of now getting some money to help Smokey. I have another friend as well, she runs a rescue and sure could use help in feeding those cats. I am still trapping ferals in Cornell so they can get spade and neutered. Nothing worse than having babies to worry about when you are homeless.

img_20170204_1356065_rewind
the backside of my chicken. Maybe this should have been the front.

Let me know what you think! I think I found something I really enjoy. I will bring you more amigurumi blogs as I create them!

One Last Post For 2016

happy-yule

It is New Year’s Eve and this will be the last post for 2016. I know this year has had its ups and downs. We have lost people this year like every year. We have had some hard times and let go of stuff we loved but have gotten new stuff to love more. I am sure you have tons of stories about this year.

I wanted to give you a run down on our stories. I am working on two Miss Nose Evil Joe Files stories. I have a Miss Nose story that is turning into a novel. Really, it is getting long. It is longer than the 2000 words I usually write for Miss Nose stories. I have two other stories I am working on as well that are still in their infancy. Mainly I have the story map done on them with some of the story actually written out. They are developing. I am still working on my Ackerman Lake Murders and  have thought about rewriting them a bit making Ackerman Lake a town outside of Munising. It is really just a lake with houses around it and is located outside of Munising. It is near Au Train at least near the road you turn on to get to Au Train. I am working on the Stalking of Katie still as well for the #shapingyourstory. I really am trying to make my writing much better and more enjoyable.

I have been working on my very first blog that used to be on blogger but I moved it here to wordpress. I have been doing chanting challenges on there and writing up some reiki articles. I am writing some stories on massage, muscles, and injuries which I am thinking about placing on that blog.

I have been reading books in my spare time and I have some that I really need to write reviews on and get on this blog. When you are doing laundry as a massage therapist, you need something to help pass the time and reading is mine. I even read when I am waiting in between clients. I read at lunch instead of being on my phone or computer. It gives my hands a break since writing, typing, and massage really takes a toll on them.

I am thinking about a year in review blog, but what is there to review? If you have something you really like about 2016’s posts, let me know and I can make a special best of the year from the readers!

I hope your new year is great and abundant. From Miss Nose and myself, HAPPY NEW YEAR! We welcome 2017 we great expectations. Maybe this year Miss Nose will find the man of her dreams!

A Sunday Nothing Note

sunday-coffee-blessings

It is pouring outside here. I am writing and watching Ancient Aliens. I hope your Sunday is blessed and you are well. I figured I should start doing something to both my blogs daily. I am thinking and writing which leads to forgetting to keep this site going or my KWP Money Reiki going. I need to make some new abundance checks and get some new cat photos for that site. I need to work on some more massage and reiki articles for it.  So much writing to do and so little time to think where should it go. I want to put more thought in my writing but I have to remember to update as much as possible both blogs.

Life can be rough if you allow it. Just need to focus more. Tata for now!

Happy Caturday! A Nothing Note!

It has been a month since I posted anything. I really should start posting daily even if it is some goofy picture so you can keep coming back. I sit here with my coffee filled with french vanilla creamer taking a break from writing two Miss Nose stories and a possible creepy pasta for October. I have also been working on my Ackerman Lake Murders and I am thinking about changing it completely.

I am baking up Oatmeal Cranberry Cookies. Joe loves them. They are healthy, I know, but that is good for the parrots. They can’t have some of the stuff I do. It does another thing as well, stops cravings for unhealthy cookies. lol.

no-coffee

I have been going to people’s houses for massage. It isn’t the same as having an office but it does make it nicer for the client. I am looking at finding some new modalities to add for my mobile business. I am looking for a drivable RV to turn into a mobile office.

School has started and I haven’t had a day home. It has been doctors and other running. Been so crazy. Both my girls came down with the common cold and guess who they gave it to, ME! So I have been battling that. We had to pick up my oldest daughter’s violin from Jim’s today. The neck had separated from the body and it cost us $60 to fix. She is so happy that it is back. All I have been hearing since we came home is her playing.

Happy Autumn Equinox to everyone. It is fall and harvesting time. All the farmers around me and I have been getting ready for winter. Canning, picking, cleaning barns & coops, & putting stuff inside so it isn’t left outside during this time.  Mitch, a local farmer, who lives on St. Nicholas Road, is selling vegetables he has grown to anyone wanting them. If you are interested, give him a call. He has tomatoes for .75 cents a pound. Can’t beet that! Get it beet instead of beat! lol. Farm humor.

My business plan for the 1.4 Billion Dollar Powerball Lottery Winnings

I hear plenty of people say, “I want to win the lottery so I don’t have to work”.  I, on the other hand, want to work! I have a ton of dreams that I need an investor for. Since banks won’t lend me the money for my dreams to come true, then I have to try elsewhere. I figure if I win the lottery then it is like everyone in the universe becoming my investor. They all believe in my dream.
What are my dreams? Well most are to put other people to work. I asked a bank recently for a loan to put in a charging station. I was laughed at for that one since they have no idea who in the U.P. would become my client and they said if a gas station came to them to request this, they would fund that. A charging station is a fill-up station for hybrid cars. Think about all the savings we would have with hybrids and all the tourist that could then fill-up here with their hybrid cars.
The next dream is to buy some old motel/hotels and turn them into stunning spas! I want to take all the old rooms and make them into affordable offices for people in the healthcare realm. Think of the chiropractors, doctors, nurses, massage therapists, and beauticians all in one spot.  I want physical therapists and personal trainers on the spot giving people the best workout. This way you don’t become injured and if you are injured you can become healthy. I want hotels that already have the pool, sauna, and hot tub! It will make the conversion easier.
Next will be to get our mechanic business all the equipment that needs to set up fully. We have  already added in the snow removal to the business but we need equipment. To be fully functioning we need snow plows, ice/sand trucks, and all the technology to fix your car. Then it is off to hire great mechanics. Since I hate it when people say get this fixed, charge you an arm and a leg, but then that wasn’t what needed to be fixed or they fix it wrong, I want mechanics who are willing to go the distance. You have to know what you are doing. Be an expert and a professional. Know that you need to charge but be flexible and most importantly fix what is really wrong the right way! Honesty and integrity are important!
I would love to open a restaurant. Not really on my to do list but something that would be beneficial to my spa. I like different ethnic food and I love it when it is cooked authentically. I think it would be wonderful to offer vegan and vegetarian dishes from around the world. You can get a hamburger anywhere but where can you get the best soups, sandwiches, salads, and cuisines that offer zero meat.
I really want a coffee shop. That is my dream job. To smell coffee all bloody day long! I want to be able to sell you a can of coffee along with a cup. That is the most awesome idea I have! I would love to have an in house band there as well playing cool jazz in the background. I use to want it to be a bar but I love coffee more than alcohol and I think it would be better for all society. This way someone fighting an addiction can come in without temptation knocking at the door. It would be great to have wifi in there as well.
Then there is my farming. This year we planted tobacco and found out it will grow here! Next is to try coffee. I want to build a heated barn for the horses and chickens. Oh I can see my chickens now! The look on their faces as they get into their nesting boxes all warmed up with heat! They may never want to leave! They love mealworms and I can see them chasing each other around a heated barn wanting that one worm. Farming takes a ton of equipment. I need the equipment and farm hands for harvesting. That should put a few people to work! I hope they love coffee as much as I do. I need to plant corn, wheat, oats, and veggies for my chicken feed. I bet the horses can eat that as well. Think of the yummy corn bread! I also need a functioning building to grind all the corn, wheat, and oats to make flour and feed with.
Then there is charity. I wish I always had money to help someone when they need it most. Someone has a fire and I don’t have money to even help them buy clothes. I can go through mine and give them what I can, but that doesn’t get a new house built for them. Some have insurance for that but not everyone does. What about those with medical bills? It would be great to give them some extra cash or pay for a procedure they need. I could give money to places that help people with their rent, heat, lights, and food. I could help with the homeless.
Then there are the animals. I would love to set up a Mr. Nose fund to help with TNR for ferals, low income spaying/neutering, and rescues. Then I could put together the Dirt Bag fund. My Dirty, who is again gone, was found after 4 months with an embedded collar. I didn’t have the money but I figured it out. It would have been great if our local shelter had the funding to help me. I am not sure what to name my special fund for getting pets out of jail when they decide to run away from home. I have to think on a name for that fund. Those animals always think  the grass is greener at the neighbors house. Crazy pets and their wanderings. Always a worry if they will need medical attention because they decided to leave the yard. I would help the no kill as well. I can’t see ending a life because you are homeless. I would love to create an animal shelter that also takes in the homeless people. Those people could help the animals for room and board!
Then there is family. They always need cash and new cars. I don’t mind helping them when they need something like money for gifts or their car needs to be fixed. I know my family. They wouldn’t ask at all for anything! But it would still be nice to be able to help them out with a teeny bit of cash.
I would love to help out my friends from time to time as well. They may need money in an emergency. They may need money to start an idea so they can make their own money. They might get into a bind and just need help because of some lesson they need to learn. You never know. It would just be nice to help when needed.
Anyway, that is my business plan to the universe. I hope you will invest in my dreams where banks won’t! As you can see. I have plans! I have ideas! I know people just like me who need help with starting something in life. It is always great to invest in a dream that one can turn into a reality.

The Breath of Life

Within that crebrospinal fluid there is an invisible element that I refer to as the “Breath of Life.” I want you to visualize this Breath of Life as a fluid within this fluid, something that does not mix, something that has potency as the thing that makes it move, Is it necessary to know what makes the fluid move? Visualize a potency, an intelligent potency, that is more intelligent than your own human mentality ~ W.G. Sutherland DO
I have been studying CranioSacral Therapy for my CEUs (continuing education units) this year. I am taking a course in a modality I haven’t had before. In my two year program at Intellitec Medical Institute, I had many modalities included in my classes. Each class had a modality as its lab where you were tested on the human body as well as a written test. This is one modality we really never learned. We did learn to hold our hands behind someone’s head and feel for the pulse of the cerebral spinal fluid. We had to learn the bones, muscles, nerves, and systems of the body. I even had pathology class.
While taking this course I was given the history of CranioSacral. It seems a Dr. William Sutherland in 1898 or sooner was looking at the human skull. He noticed the sutures on the skull and started to come up with ideas about them. One of his ideas is that sutures breath. They inhale and exhale just as the lungs do. I get this. I think it can be a reasonable argument. He even made some sort of helmet to test his theories. He ended up with headaches, nausea, and other problems which led him to believe these sutures do breathe.
Sutures are joints that hold together each bone in the skull. They are made of fibrous connective tissue. Connective tissue is like glue in the body. It holds everything together. It keeps on regenerating too. That is why doctors who operate on you tell everyone to just cut it out and throw it away. That really isn’t a great idea since that is how scars are formed. As medical doctors learn more about the human body, they start realizing that things they did in the past are really stupid ideas now. People wouldn’t have so many scars from surgery if they wouldn’t cut off the extra connective tissue.
Connective tissue has many functions it binds, it allows oxygen, nutrients, carbon dioxide, and waste to pass, it allows resistance to stretching and tearing, structural and functional support, provides cushioning,  compression, its elastic, and is found everywhere in the human body including the nervous system. Think of connective tissue as a framework to your house. Your body is a house and connective tissue is your wood, metal, pipes, electrical lines, and anything else you need to glue your home together. I like to think of it as breathable glue. It lets in air and lets out the toxic waste.
Knowing what I do about connective tissue, I can totally understand Dr. Sutherland’s position. The body breathes. All your cells breathe. You need oxygen to go everywhere in the body and you need carbon dioxide taken out. That would lead anyone to the logical conclusion that cells breathe. You need some way for carbon dioxide to leave your body. Carbon dioxide is made in your body so it must be released somehow.
The brain has a blood brain barrier. That means you need a special blood to go to your brain. That “blood” is cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) or cerebral spinal fluid. That specialized fluid is like oil for your engine. If transmission fluid gets into the engine oil or antifreeze gets into the engines oil, your engine is toast same with the brain if blood gets into that. The engine has movable, breathable parts to keep combustion going just like your brain and skull. Your engine has wires and spark plugs coming out of it as does your brain. Your brain has a stem and nerves going down your spine. Actually, your spine is a specialized casing to protect your spinal column. Your spinal column is a cord of nerves that are like a trunk of a tree. It branches out into roots like a tree branches out its roots They nerves then go to other towns in your body. Think of your spinal column as the interstate and the nerves as highways and the roots as dead end roads you are traveling. They are filled with electricity so be careful. Just like the wires in your house that turn on the lights or allow you to charge your batteries.
Think of yourself as an electric battery. Electricity seems to have the power to explode or distribute oxygen, from which we receive the vitalizing benefits. When it plays freely all through your system, you feel well. If you shut it off in one place, congestion results ~ Dr. A.T. Still
This pulsating fluid that runs down your spinal column and around your brain is what craniosacral therapist are looking for. This is not like your pulse in the circulatory system. This is like a very slow blop. It isn’t even timed correctly from person to person. When I was in massage school, I found it on several of my classmates. Each had a pulse from this fluid that would pulsate every 6 to 30 seconds. Each person was different. It is hard to find this pulse so it could be everyone’s is the same but you have to find it and hope you keep it so you can count it. The circulatory system really takes the lead on pulses. If you really sit and feel you can also find the lymphatic flow as well. You find that pulse easier at the junctions where there are lymph nodes.
Another reason why everyone I tried finding the CSF pulse on had different times could be different health issues. One person in our class had back issues, one had anxiety, one had hip problems, one had uterus issues, one was healthy, one was obese, and then we could take into consideration age. There are many variables to why each pulse was different. I had several classmates with all kinds of pathologies. Each of these health issues could easily explain why the CSF pulse was different or maybe even tell us if there are restrictions one doesn’t even know about.
There really isn’t a whole lot of research into certain areas of the body. The medical community just takes it for granted and instead of being curious they just go with what they knew over 200 + years ago. Since we have so much technology today, I wish the medical community would start to investigate the human body more. I wish they would do more research and update their findings with something more concrete. It is like saying the earth is flat and the sun rotates around the earth. At some point you need to leave the dark ages and expand your horizon.
It has been an amazing journey taking my CranioSacral Therapy (CST) class. With that and my ramblings, I leave you with another quote from Dr. Sutherland who is considered the pioneer of the craniosacral movement. It is an interesting idea that doctors have different ideas of what is the breath of life or even what is a soul.
Dr. Still envisioned the cerebral spinal fluid as an intermediary in the movement of Divine intelligence, a channeling of creation into embryological segments and irrigating them with life, giving form and function and order and intelligence to our existance ~ W.G. Sutherland DO
