Today is my birthday

That is right. Today is the day where everyone says, “Happy Birthday” to you on social media. But it is much more than that. It is the start of my new year. Today I was brought onto this planet and not without great pain. Dr. Olson and Dr. Dehlin both celebrated my day by having a doctor’s appointment showing me the x-rays of my birth. I was trapped sideways in the birth canal and finally was released at 10:40 p.m. Back in 1970, I could have died. We didn’t have the greatest of medical care then. We are so far more advanced today than in 1970. I really started to think today. I sat here all day working on stuff and no cake, no ice cream, no party because at 47 everyone is already sick of throwing you one. So I sat here in silence, writing, reflecting, and wishing. Mostly, I wished I could have a bloody piece of cake, a doughnut, or even a damn cupcake! But that is not what is really important. What is important, some people remembered without facebook ever telling them.

Anyway, I decided I would share my birthday wish with everyone this year. Although every year is usually the same. I wish every year to win the powerball and live on triple digit millions.

One of my birthdays I think my 13th or 14th. I have Garfield on my cake.

Making wishes on my birthday

Every year we all make wishes on our birthday and never tell a soul in fear they won’t come true. This year, I am going to tell you all my secret wishes since keeping them to myself every year hasn’t made them grow into reality.

Here is my wish in abundance for the next year of my life.

  1. I wish for peace to spread across this planet like a wildfire in June.
  2. I wish for everyone to find that one person to love for all eternity.
  3. I wish for all animals everywhere to be respected and love for the beautiful souls they are. For they too are on a path up the mountain and are learning their lessons to move on.
  4. I wish for abundance for all.
  5. I wish everyone wins the lottery at least once in their lifetime.
  6. I wish for everyone to be happy.
  7. I wish for all ailments to be cured.
  8. I wish for coffee to become our source of income.
  9. I wish for our waters to be clean.
  10. I wish for inflation to go down.
  11. I wish for .15 cent hamburgers.
  12. I wish for everyone, everywhere to have their own home. Their own stable place where they can always come back to.
  13. I wish for all politicians to grow a brain.
  14. I wish for medicine to advance to the point where a human being can regrow anything. This of course will make bald men everywhere highly excited.
  15. I wish for luck.
  16. I wish for all the dead to come back at least once a year to discuss stuff we all need reminding of.
  17. I wish for joy.
  18. I wish humans would become less of the predators and more of the caretakers.
  19. I wish for trees
  20. I wish the bees had more respect.
  21. I wish we all had land to farm.
  22. I wish for hippies giving out flowers again.
  23. I wish for more volunteers.
  24. I wish for more smiles.
  25. I wish for more laughter.
  26. I wish for more people gathering together at coffee shops filling their day with brightness.
  27. I wish for more sunshine.
  28. I wish for more family time.
  29. I wish time would slow the hell down.
  30. I wish my parents would get along.
  31. I wish everyone would practice forgiveness.
  32. I wish I had a jet to fly to other countries for coffee and pie.
  33. I wish for extinct animals to come back
  34. I wish for chocolate
  35. I wish I had the funds to travel more.
  36. I wish there was a computer glitch and I have millions in the bank.
  37. I wish I had a time machine.
  38. I wish we had free electricity
  39. I wish we didn’t have to use gas in a car.
  40. I wish you all knew how beautiful you are.
  41. I wish for the end of abuse
  42. I wish for the end of hatred
  43. I wish everyone just got along
  44. I wish Donald Trump was as funny as George Bush Jr.
  45. I wish I could save the whole world from itself.
  46. I wish you all have a chance to examine your life and make it better for yourself. There is nothing wrong with self-love. There is nothing wrong with wanting better.

Which leads me to number 47, the number I am today. This is the biggest wish ever. Most of all, I wish all my friends and family, the best life you could ever have! Remember, you are not promised a tomorrow so make the most of today.

Just remember, I can go on and on with wishes you know. I do them daily. I wish I had a maid, I wish I had a brand new car, I wish I had a doughnut, I wish I had more coffee, I wish I had more money. And on and on the wishes go!

Stress Balls

I have a few ideas for my own crochet designs of stress balls. As a massage therapist, I have way, way, way, way, way, way, way, way, way, way, way, and many more way, too many clients who are just plain stressed out! I do offer meditation classes as well to help ease the day out of stress. Teaching meditation classes wasn’t really my forte and I have to plan each session carefully.  From the music to what I say, each class is focused.  I even throw in aromatherapy into meditation since certain smells will trigger a relaxation sensation.

That being said, I go on you tube all the time to check out what others have created so I don’t make their product. Which is really hard since everything has pretty much been made.  I am thinking about making some stress balls to sell. One of the places I have a booth for most years is our local steam and gas show.  I want to make some cute little animals like cats, dogs, squirrels, chickens, birds, frogs, and the like. I love to do crafts. Crafts keep me sane. I drink coffee and work on crafts outside of my employment that is. Writing is another passion of mine. I love it. Especially when I can kill something which is forbidden in real life.

So anyway, I was watching this video on stress balls and learned of the Craft Yarn Council.  Never knew this existed! I went on facebook and liked their page! I found a couple of articles there you will all love. One deals with what I have said before about amigurumi. You need to know math and what better skill than crocheting and knitting to make math really stick.  I have three links for you.

The other reason I have for this post is, I want to make a stress ball that is mine. I need a great idea like should it be a carrot or a mouse. Something that hasn’t been over done or hasn’t been done at all. What are your ideas? I can make them in funny faces, as animals, as flowers, as trees, as elements, but they have all been done. Someone even made the planets. I need a great idea that is my brand. So, please, put your thinking caps on and help me!

My business plan for the 1.4 Billion Dollar Powerball Lottery Winnings

I hear plenty of people say, “I want to win the lottery so I don’t have to work”.  I, on the other hand, want to work! I have a ton of dreams that I need an investor for. Since banks won’t lend me the money for my dreams to come true, then I have to try elsewhere. I figure if I win the lottery then it is like everyone in the universe becoming my investor. They all believe in my dream.
What are my dreams? Well most are to put other people to work. I asked a bank recently for a loan to put in a charging station. I was laughed at for that one since they have no idea who in the U.P. would become my client and they said if a gas station came to them to request this, they would fund that. A charging station is a fill-up station for hybrid cars. Think about all the savings we would have with hybrids and all the tourist that could then fill-up here with their hybrid cars.
The next dream is to buy some old motel/hotels and turn them into stunning spas! I want to take all the old rooms and make them into affordable offices for people in the healthcare realm. Think of the chiropractors, doctors, nurses, massage therapists, and beauticians all in one spot.  I want physical therapists and personal trainers on the spot giving people the best workout. This way you don’t become injured and if you are injured you can become healthy. I want hotels that already have the pool, sauna, and hot tub! It will make the conversion easier.
Next will be to get our mechanic business all the equipment that needs to set up fully. We have  already added in the snow removal to the business but we need equipment. To be fully functioning we need snow plows, ice/sand trucks, and all the technology to fix your car. Then it is off to hire great mechanics. Since I hate it when people say get this fixed, charge you an arm and a leg, but then that wasn’t what needed to be fixed or they fix it wrong, I want mechanics who are willing to go the distance. You have to know what you are doing. Be an expert and a professional. Know that you need to charge but be flexible and most importantly fix what is really wrong the right way! Honesty and integrity are important!
I would love to open a restaurant. Not really on my to do list but something that would be beneficial to my spa. I like different ethnic food and I love it when it is cooked authentically. I think it would be wonderful to offer vegan and vegetarian dishes from around the world. You can get a hamburger anywhere but where can you get the best soups, sandwiches, salads, and cuisines that offer zero meat.
I really want a coffee shop. That is my dream job. To smell coffee all bloody day long! I want to be able to sell you a can of coffee along with a cup. That is the most awesome idea I have! I would love to have an in house band there as well playing cool jazz in the background. I use to want it to be a bar but I love coffee more than alcohol and I think it would be better for all society. This way someone fighting an addiction can come in without temptation knocking at the door. It would be great to have wifi in there as well.
Then there is my farming. This year we planted tobacco and found out it will grow here! Next is to try coffee. I want to build a heated barn for the horses and chickens. Oh I can see my chickens now! The look on their faces as they get into their nesting boxes all warmed up with heat! They may never want to leave! They love mealworms and I can see them chasing each other around a heated barn wanting that one worm. Farming takes a ton of equipment. I need the equipment and farm hands for harvesting. That should put a few people to work! I hope they love coffee as much as I do. I need to plant corn, wheat, oats, and veggies for my chicken feed. I bet the horses can eat that as well. Think of the yummy corn bread! I also need a functioning building to grind all the corn, wheat, and oats to make flour and feed with.
Then there is charity. I wish I always had money to help someone when they need it most. Someone has a fire and I don’t have money to even help them buy clothes. I can go through mine and give them what I can, but that doesn’t get a new house built for them. Some have insurance for that but not everyone does. What about those with medical bills? It would be great to give them some extra cash or pay for a procedure they need. I could give money to places that help people with their rent, heat, lights, and food. I could help with the homeless.
Then there are the animals. I would love to set up a Mr. Nose fund to help with TNR for ferals, low income spaying/neutering, and rescues. Then I could put together the Dirt Bag fund. My Dirty, who is again gone, was found after 4 months with an embedded collar. I didn’t have the money but I figured it out. It would have been great if our local shelter had the funding to help me. I am not sure what to name my special fund for getting pets out of jail when they decide to run away from home. I have to think on a name for that fund. Those animals always think  the grass is greener at the neighbors house. Crazy pets and their wanderings. Always a worry if they will need medical attention because they decided to leave the yard. I would help the no kill as well. I can’t see ending a life because you are homeless. I would love to create an animal shelter that also takes in the homeless people. Those people could help the animals for room and board!
Then there is family. They always need cash and new cars. I don’t mind helping them when they need something like money for gifts or their car needs to be fixed. I know my family. They wouldn’t ask at all for anything! But it would still be nice to be able to help them out with a teeny bit of cash.
I would love to help out my friends from time to time as well. They may need money in an emergency. They may need money to start an idea so they can make their own money. They might get into a bind and just need help because of some lesson they need to learn. You never know. It would just be nice to help when needed.
Anyway, that is my business plan to the universe. I hope you will invest in my dreams where banks won’t! As you can see. I have plans! I have ideas! I know people just like me who need help with starting something in life. It is always great to invest in a dream that one can turn into a reality.

Not So Sunny Sunday at the Hen House about Nothing at All.

Today, we woke up to a storm. The garden is happy. All the little plants are up and about as gay as can be!

“YAY! We have fresh water from the sky gods!” They are all chiming. The heat makes them saggy.

I planted in another spot, but with the grass growing through it I have no idea if any of my seeds are growing.

The chickens are all enjoying a respite from the rain. It is raining on and off here. They all scatter to the coop as fast as they can when it comes down and then just as fast out to look for worms when it stops.

20041255388_c5055f420d_m

Tilly and Ryder just want to stay in today. Can’t blame them. They went out to do their business and don’t want to be caught up in our rain storm.

The kittens were all playing for a bit. When it started raining again they were screaming at the door. They don’t like the rain. Fluffy, thinks she is a mechanic. She is always by Dave and trying to get inside of engines.

The blue moon has been amazing these past couple of nights. I think I caught a UFO! We went to my Dad’s yesterday for a cook out. We roasted marshmallows and grilled hot dogs. There was potato salad and beans too. Just a small let’s get together gathering. No special reason at all. Just something to do.

I have an egg joke for you. It is very cute. I laughed. I put it on some pictures of eggs and hens from our farm.

EGGJOKE

Something funny!

I have decided that I won’t post for Cornell News on Fridays and Saturdays since I am working on short stories for those days. Therefore, you will be without farm news for two days. I am thinking about taking one of those days as well and getting a massage post out (meaning Sunday-Thursday).

May the rain keep your plants healthy! May your coffee be warm!

A Nothing Episode About Taco Tuesday With More Pics of Cheech & Chong

Baby Baby and I started our day outside finishing the story for Friday. We have that done and scheduled. That will be my first here so cross your fingers let’s all hope it works. Baby Baby can still fly so to protect him I put him in a cage. He doesn’t like the cage but it is for his safety. I took a picture of him. I told him to pose for his picture and smile.

That is what I got. Leave it to a bird.

It has been in the 80’s here lately. That is hot for da UP especially since we are used to 30 below. We are all soaking up the heat and loving it. I got a picture of Ryder sleeping in the sunshine and shade of our cherry tree. I loves being outside. He is a rescue dog. He is part beagle and part basset hound. He is going blind so we keep him on a chain. He likes to run when spooked and with my road, well, I don’t want him killed.

The cats have all been laying around looking dead. They are feral and come into my house at the hottest moments of the day to sleep. Why they want to sleep in a house that is hotter than outside I will never know. Zelda’s babies are now playing. I had to give these cats some sort of name so I could get them vet care. I have been taking in ferals left and right to get spayed and neutered. We call Zelda’s babies Carmen (pure white one), Jude (black and white), and Ruby (the only girl who is orange, black, and white). They are getting so big. Soon it will be time for their vet visits.

I made tacos for supper tonight. Yes, Yoopers do eat something besides pasties! We even enjoy pannu kakku for breakfast or dessert. The girls have been asking for tacos for about a month or so now. I had to give in especially when I found little boats to use.

I have wild raspberries growing throughout my yard. I really love them. They are tiny compared to what you get in the store but they are way more yummy. Sweeter than the store ones as well. I am thinking about transplanting all of the bushes to one area of my yard. That should make picking them easier.

IMG_20150728_1057585_rewind

And now the pictures everyone really wants to see and the two celebrities of the chicken farm, our mini Rhode Island Reds, Cheech and Chong! I know my mom wants to take them home. They are the cutest little things ever. They squeak when they crow. They are funny. They make the hen house. Here they are. Hot off the presses. Fresh photos from just today!

May your water stay fresh and cold. May your days be filled with plenty. Til next time!

Love the Hen House!

Sunday Promises about Nothing at all with Cheech and Chong

Last night we picked up Cheech and Chong. Baby Baby didn’t know what to think about these two. They are mini Rhode Island Red Roosters (some call them Old English Game). You should hear them crow. We left them in the pet carrier over night, then put them in a big cage until I knew the hens were ok with them. They are now out running all over the yard, sitting in the trees, trying to fight the bigger chickens, and crowing. They have been staying near us. When we went to see them in Rapid River, you couldn’t get anywhere near them. The farmer we got them from had to wait til all the chickens were in the coop for the night to catch them for us. We have been holding them all night and we held them for a while when we took them out of the cage.

Comparison photos so you can better judge their size.

I decided to take some more pictures of the wild flowers growing all over my yard. They are so beautiful. I really love being outside. I sit out here plenty writing, reading, crocheting, knitting, and visiting with others who stop by. We enjoy ourselves out here. Dave is using our garage for his business. He is a mechanic. I have plenty of cars in my yard now. He is fixing them left and right. My yard looks like a used car lot at times. He isn’t charging much for labor. He knows times are hard and people need their cars fixed.

Anyway, check out these beauties.

This is what I have to put up with. Wild flowers all over my yard. My apples are almost ripe too. That means more apple jam for the year. I so can’t wait. I love apple jam. I am looking for a maple tree to tap. That is my next quest. Tap one, put a bucket under it, and have enough syrup for all of us for the year. One bucket would make enough syrup to fill a small syrup jar. We don’t eat syrup much here so that one jar will last us a while.

My elbows have been really dry lately. I bought some ultra shea cream from Bath and Body Works. Oh how I love the smell. It is the Carried Away body cream. I could smell this all day. I love it. Being a massage therapist, I always check my body for dry spots. I don’t need anyone wondering why I am adding oil to them but not taking care of myself. It is very important in any profession to be able to recommend something to anyone else and have them know you have tried this so it works. I don’t recommend anything I haven’t tried on myself first.

I am almost finished with my story for Friday. When it is done, I plan on playing with the schedule setting to see if I can get it to pop up on Friday. Then I will work on one for Saturday. I have several chapter books I am working on as well as massage and reiki articles. I am grateful for the save as a draft buttons. I can keep working without wondering where my story is.

Baby Baby and I are waiting for the videos to upload. When they are done, we will add them to a post. We have one up so that one will go here. But more are being uploaded and I will get them to you.

.

May your breeze keep you cool on a warm summers day. I will see you all again soon with another episode of nothing.
